UNSOS provides standard administrative and logistical support to the United Nations Transitional Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS), enabling the UN political mission to maintain its presence across Somalia during its second and final transition phase until 31 October 2026.
The mission support services include:
a) Human resources (recruitment, entitlements, travel and related services);
b) Budget and finance (management of the UNTMIS budget);
c) Transportation and movement services (ground, air and sea);
d) Accommodation services (office and residential);
e) Camp services (facilities management, including catering);
f) Medical services (Levels I–IV, including medical evacuation);
g) Communications and information technology.
h) Equipment maintenance;
i) Security services (United Nations Guard Unit and the integrated UNTMIS/UNSOS/DSS security section);
j) Legal services.
k) Conduct and discipline.
l) Occupational safety and health;
m) Environmental management; and
n) Welfare services.
